Jean-Luc Godard

Each time, I watch an old movie gem in a cinema, I wish YouTube to hell. Not cause of piracy and/or democratic use of media. Just coz of the difference – the lack – in magic. Kinoschlaf tells you a lot about this magic, this perfect life in a cloud, this spell put on me.

Jean-Luc Godard believes that intellectual property does not exist: “It’s not where you take things from – it’s where you take them to.” He just donated money to help a man accused of illegal mp3 downloading. Which is all fine. One thing there is: now…we all love to see very often things we adore. We enjoy instant access. We like to have what we love around us.

But even though: do we really want to watch Le mépris or À bout de souffle only on YouTube?

Jean-Luc Godard‘s donation: Read the French article about it here and the English report here.
